Convertro Universal Tag

One thing that frustrated me about Convertro was the fact that there wasn’t a universal tag that could be used in place of having two separate tags on a given page.  The universal tag, like the major players have, allows adding the code to a global file and not having to worry about editing pages (unless of course you are adding in granular tracking). However, as of a few days ago, this now isn’t an issue as Convertro released their universal tag.  The tag, which replaces the older <head> and <body> tags mentioned in Deploying Convertro Tracking, should be placed as the first child after the <body> tag but if this isn’t possible, atleast make sure its included between the <body></body> tags.  The universal tag looks like:<script type=”text/javascript”>document.write(unescape(‘%3Cscript src=”‘ + document.location.protocol + ‘//d1ivexoxmp59q7.cloudfront.net/clientname/live.js” type=”text/javascript”%3E%3C/script%3E’));</script>This simplifies implementation and allows you to dedicate more time and energy to analyzing the data, which is really what all web analyst should be doing.
