Convertro & Google Analytics Parameter Mapping
One question I was recently asked was…what do I do if I have both Google Analytics and Convertro installed on my site? This blog posting will briefly discuss how GA is mapped into Convertro and some of the added benefits this provides.Convertro, out of the box, has the ability to read certain Google Analytics variables without any additional coding required. This is handy as it makes leveraging some of GA’s functionality easy and simple via Convertro. The three variables that are configured are:
- utm_medium maps to Source 1
- utm_source maps to Source 2
- utm_content maps to Source 3
With this feature, you won’t need to change your campaign destination URLs set up already with Google Analytics tracking code within them and can leverage both Google Analytics and Convertro to see the patterns/behaviors of your users. Now you can see the traffic breakdown in GA while looking at how many touch points were touched prior to conversion in Convertro.
