Integrating Coremetrics Live View into Flash
In addition to tracking Coremetrics tags, it is possible to integrate Coremetrics’ Live View functionality with a Flash movie embedded within a page. This can be done in the following way:
- On the HTML page in which the Flash movie is embedded, place a number of 1 pixel by 1 pixel transparent gifs equal to the number of Flash-based links that you are tracking. These gifs should be placed somewhere near the Flash movie.
- Wrap each gif in an <a></a> tag set.
- Give each <a> tag the following attributes:
- name = The same name that is used in the linkName paramater of the cmCreatePageviewTag method call that generates the click tracking, with one difference: any commas in the linkName should be replaced with spaces in the name attribute that you are defining here. This is because the Coremetrics database automatically strips out any commas in the linkName attribute and replaces them with spaces, and the name attribute must match the data from the Coremetrics database for Live View to function properly.
- href = The same url that is passed in the URL paramater of the cmCreatePageviewTag method call of the link that you wish to track with Live View.
